CBSE Syllabus: The decision to reduce the syllabus will be important for more than 50 lakh students. The reduction of syllabus will have a good impact on the studies of the students. After the syllabus is reduced, students will be able to study from the new syllabus. Their curriculum and exam will be based on the reduced syllabus only.

CBSE Syllabus: CBSE Board may reduce NCERT syllabus for class 9th to 12th from the academic session 2023-24. It has been said in the media reports that the subjects from which the syllabus will be reduced will include History, Geography, English and Hindi.

Apart from these subjects, the syllabus of other subjects can also be reduced. CBSE teaches from NCERT syllabus in 22 states. Most of the topics which are covered under some other chapter and are considered to be repetitive will be removed from the syllabus.

Syllabus reduction committee

CBSE board is likely to release the information about reduction of syllabus soon. To reduce the syllabus, the experts of NCERT and CBSE board have made a plan to reduce the syllabus from ninth to 12th. The syllabus reduction committee has also taken suggestions from management, parents, educationists and teachers in different states, schools.

Study from new syllabus after syllabus reduction

Last year, topics were removed from some subjects of 11th and 12th syllabus

Every year the board adds or subtracts something from the syllabus. All these changes go for the betterment of the students. Last year too, the board had removed the Non-Aligned Movement, Cold War, Rise of Islamic Empires in the Afro-Asian region, History of the Mughal courts and Industrial Revolution from the Political Science syllabus of class 11th and 12th. Apart from this, some topics were also removed from the 10th Social Science syllabus. The removed topics included food security, impact of globalization on agriculture.
